Eagle Classic selects Feedmore as Charity Recipient

With the call to action “Drive Hunger out of Central Virginia,” this year’s Eagle Classic will benefit FeedMore, the umbrella organization for the Central Virginia Food Bank, Meals on Wheels Serving Central Virginia, and the Community Kitchen. The Eagle Classic is the Symetra professional women’s golf tournament, “Road to the LPGA,” taking place the week of August 13, 2012.
The Eagle Companies, title sponsor of the Richmond event, are proud to have selected FeedMore as the tournament charity because of the tremendous local impact of the organization, which provides comprehensive hunger relief to thousands of children, seniors, and families throughout the region.
For the fifth year of the Eagle Classic, more than 144 professional golfers from throughout the United States and 36 countries will travel to Richmond Country Club the week of August 13, 2012, to compete for the $100,000.00 purse and, more importantly, for a card to play in the Ladies Professional Golf Association.
The Eagle Classic will include an entire week of events: Pro-Ams, Junior Clinics, Skills Challenges, Style Show, Vendor Exhibits, Silent Auction, “Meet the Pros” Party, all leading up to the exciting tournament on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. A highlight is Military Appreciation Day, when wounded warriors come for golf lessons from the pros and all military personnel and their families are admitted free of charge.

The Halligan Bar and Grill
You might already be familiar with this downtown favorite, located in Shockoe Bottom. Now Halligan’s is opening a location right here in West Broad Village, featuring their signature firefighter theme and serving up delicious barbeque. There’s even a full-sized real, and vintage we might add, fire engine located behind the bar. This soon-to-be Short Pump hot spot is set to open in just two short weeks! We’ll see you there!
